The Writing Process - Anchor Charts

My first purchasable item on Teachers Pay Teachers!!! Guys, I'm so excited! I hope you are too!
One of my favorite things to teach is writing. I have created a set of anchor charts for each part of The Writing Process {Prewriting, Drafting, Revising, Editing, Proofreading, and Publishing}. These cuties would look spectacular on your Writing Wall

I have my students track where they are in the writing process as they are writing. The different headers of the process are taped to my cabinet and each student has a clothes pin with their number on it. As they go throughout the process they move their clip. This lets me know exactly where each student is and who I need to conference with. I really love it and so do the kids. It keeps accountability on my end and theirs!

This packet contains the anchor charts & the headers for your kids to track their writing too!
Please let me know if I can answer any of your questions!

The first 3 people to add a comment telling me their favorite writing [teaching] technique and to blog about my new TPT purchase will receive the packet for free! Thanks for following my blog, as well!

Happy {almost} Hump Day!

Inferencing Anchor Charts - Freebies

Inferencing is offically one of the hardest reading strands to teach, if I do say so myself. Here are two anchor charts and one graphic organizer to use when teaching inferencing to your little darlings. Hope you find them helpful!

New Year - New Goals

I started the day by giving my students a pencil with this darling label via Pinterest! Oh what I did before Pinterest???

{Thank you Sunny Day in Second Grade}

As a class we came up with a list of New Year Resolutions or Goals. The kids did a great job!
{Sorry it is a tad blurry!}
First we did this great writing activity from Ladybug Teacher Files {via Pinterest} as a prewriting activity for our awesome little flip books! The kids had a great time writing down their goals and sharing with their classmates. I even heard "accountability talk" going on today which was awesome!

After the kids brainstormed their personal goals for 2012 in their Quick Write journal they picked their 4 favorite or 4 most important to actually record in their 2012 book.
Materials Needed
*1 piece of construction paper
*Scissors
*Glue
*Di-Cut Numbers

Fold the construction paper in half hot dog style. Then cut four equal slits through the top sheet. Leave the background sheet whole. Paste each number in the designated square. Flip up and record goal and what to do in order to achieve that goal!

Here's to a New Year and here's to me trying to be a better blogger!
What did you do to ring in the new year with your kiddos!?

Here is the "Reindeer" application for those of you who do that adorable activity in your room.
This year I plan to turn their pictures black and white and they can add antlers and a red, glittery nose to their picture. I created this application to go along with the craftivity.

We are introducing Tables next week so I made this chart to help the kids keep their thoughts organized. Tables are such a hard concept!!

I plan to do this cute snowman craftivity at some point in the next two weeks. Thanks Pinterest! :0)
